Truly the ULTIMATE wilderness horseback riding experience
After settling into your cabin and a tour of Teepee Heart Ranch, you are matched individually with your horse...your "partner". It is important you get to know your "partner" and allow them time to get to know you. This ranch ride will prepare you both for the days ahead!
The next morning, day two, you leave the ranch with your Teepee Heart guide and the pack horses carrying all the provisions you and the rest of the riders will need. One of the first challenges that lay ahead is crossing Big Creek!
On day three, you and the other riders reach the base camp in the heart of Big Creek Provincial Park. Over the next week you will be guided through some of the most breathtaking country only accessible by horseback or hiking. Lorna Lake - a spectacular glacial lake and source of Big Creek, The Dil Plateau - a 2000m high plateau with breathtaking views, Graveyard Valley - the holy burial grounds of the Chilcotin Indians, and weather permitting, the Tyoax or Elbow Pass - high passes of over 2200m!
During a well deserved rest for our horses, we will explore on foot the nearby historic Cow Cabin of the famous Gang Ranch and walk on Dash Hill. If you are lucky on your trip, you might see moose, cougar, wolves, mountain goat or possibly a black or grizzly bear!
